Spinning on a Handspindle

Handspindles do not have to be just something you use to show "how it was done before spinning wheels came along". Cultures into the 21st Century use handspindles for the creation of thread, and now you can learn to efficiently use a handspindle to create thread that you can use in various projects alone or with your commercial or wheel-spun yarns. Students do not have to bring anything but a pen for taking notes, but are welcome to bring a troublesome or favorite handspindle to share. A variety of fibers will be supplied by the instructor.
